Meet a CSGer: Brooke

Friendly neighborhood Creative Director, Brooke, is known around CSG as a word nerd, fan of email nurture programs and sometime participant in prank wars. Read on to learn what makes her tick.

It Was All Fun and Games Until We Made A Game

All of my favorite people have a pronounced sense of play. My friend group has a long-standing, multi-day, annual event dedicated to playing games. We rarely finish off the podium at trivia night. We’ve been asked to playtest escape rooms. So… it was probably only a matter of time before we went from players to makers.

It’s been my absolute pleasure to develop a party game with two of my absolute best pals (you might recognize one of them!) and find ways to bring our other pals (oh hey KP and CSG playtesters) into the process along the way. Look alive for shameless self-promotion when we launch our kickstarter later this year.

Prone to Wander

Molly’s fond of saying that I went to Europe for dinner. Here’s the thing, I did go to Europe for dinner. And I’d do it again. One does not simply get offered a seat at Noma and say no.

And as seen here, one simply does not visit the Grand Trianon at Versailles and not twirl.

Me and Mom Against the World

When they gave out moms, I got the best one. It’s been just the two of us for most of my life and that’s always been fine by us. We can improvise our way through most home projects, negotiate at car dealerships and we keep each other laughing. Last year we drove our doggos to Cape Cod together and the most dramatic moment involved a mouse in our AirBnb.

Everyone’s a Critic, but I’m a Film Critic

When I was 18, I was convinced I could outpace the rapid devastation of the print journalism industry by getting a journalism degree AND a film degree. “Entertainment Weekly, here I come!” It didn’t quite work that way, but I did grow up to be a pop culture writer. For the past decade, I’ve been a member of the Denver Film Critics Society. I’ve covered San Diego Comic-Con and Sundance and even BookCon. I’ve interviewed Jack Black, Emma Stone, Jennifer Connelly, Josh Brolin, Carey Mulligan, Pierce Brosnan, Seth Myers, Miles Teller, Vera Farmiga and plenty of others along the way.
