Meet a CSGer: Gena
Virginia Native
I was born and raised in Virginia, lived there my whole life up through college. I graduated from James Madison University (roll dukes!) in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley back in 2022 with a degree in sports & recreation management (basically PR.. not). Colorado was a major leap of faith, but I have no regrets getting to live in and explore this incredible state. I am, however, headed back to the homeland for now, but I’ll be back for more CO adventures in the future.

Concert Buff
In the last few years, I’ve rediscovered my love for concerts. I’ve always been a music lover, I’ll never start driving until it’s playing, but took an unintentional 3 year hiatus from concerts. Now since breaking the streak in 2021, I’ve been to 17 concerts and have tickets to another 9 this year (not including whatever other concerts I discover). Above all, I’m just keeping occupied until Justin Bieber announces his Eras Tour (fingers crossed).

Volleyball Player Turned Coach
Growing up it was all sports everything for me - ballet, soccer, lacrosse, volleyball - but the one that really stuck for me was volleyball. I played all throughout high school, but after deciding not to play in college, I went 4 years itching to get back on the court. I fell into coaching when I moved to CO 2 years ago and have had a blast ever since getting to share my love for the sport and play again after so many years.

Outdoorsy
I have always loved to travel and be outside exploring new places. By no means does that mean I’m an avid camper, but more so someone that will never turn down a trip to the beach, to the lake, or into the mountains with friends. I have yet to experience a summer without going to the beach and I don’t plan to experience that any time soon.

Doggos Frank & Jo
I’m an auntie to two sweet pups - Joli and Franklin (Frank & Jo). Though they belong to my sister, I get to reap the benefits of unlimited pets and cuteness, as well as craziness and neediness, without the cost of owning a dog. I do, however, hope to one day adopt a dachshund and name them Winston.
