And they lived happily ever after.
CSG Senior Associate, Brianna Petrauskas and her longtime beau, Riley Schmitz became engaged Dec. 28, 2019 in Kansas City, Missouri.
It was the Saturday after Christmas, and the midwestern clouds in the sky had been showering rain on and off all day. Still, the future fiancés decided to go ice skating at Country Club Plaza. The shopping district was adorned with festive holiday lights, an enormous lighted Christmas tree, and oversized play castles.
After hanging up their skates, the bride- and groom-to-be were caught in a sudden downpour and ran from castle to castle, seeking refuge from the rain. And it was there, inside the third castle closest to the parking garage — rain soaked and crazy in love —that Riley dropped down on one knee and asked Brianna to be his wife.
They plan to marry on May 9, 2020 at the The Barn at Riverbend in Peculiar, Missouri.
The couple met two years earlier though mutual friends in Kansas City.
